A new report that surfaced has confirmed that Joan Rivers' personal doctor who performed an unnecessary throat biopsy on the "Fashion Police" host took a selfie with her while she was on anesthesia.

Last month, Rivers went to the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic for a scheduled procedure with gastroenterologist Dr. Lawrence Cohen. After the procedure ended, Rivers' personal doctor, whose name has not yet been revealed, began a biopsy procedure on the funny woman without her consent, according to CNN.

This procedure, according to several experts, became the cause of Rivers' untimely demise.

"Investigators believe that Rivers' vocal cords began to swell during the allegedly unauthorized biopsy, cutting off the flow of oxygen to her lungs, which led to cardiac arrest on the morning of August 29," a source said.

After careful investigation, the clinic has demanded Dr. Cohen to step down as the medical director of Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic and he obliged.

A spokesperson for the clinic confirmed the news and said, "Dr. Cohen is not currently performing procedures at Yorkville Endoscopy; nor is he currently serving as medical director," the NY Daily News reported.

Following Rivers' death on September 4, her only daughter, Melissa, has been contemplating as to whether or not she would file a medical malpractice claim against the clinic or her mother's attending physician.

Now, multiple sources have confirmed that Melissa is certain she would file the case, Radar Online noted.

"It's become very clear to Melissa and experts she has spoken to that her mother didn't have to die. This was a routine endoscopy went wrong. Melissa has also been told that staff members at Yorkville Endoscopy revealed a shocking detail to medical investigators looking into Joan's death - something occurred during the procedure that wasn't medically related," the source explained.

"Melissa will await the outcome of the official medical investigation and then absolutely file the lawsuits," the source added.
