Joan Rivers' daughter Melissa Rivers has spoken for the first time since her mom's funeral.

Melissa, the only child of Joan and Edgar Rosenberg, took to Facebook Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, to thank her mom's fans for their kindness and support in the wake of the comedienne's death on Sept. 4 at the age of 81.

"As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media," wrote Melissa. "My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time."

"We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother's legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many," she added.

E! and Joan's "Fashion Police" family is set to pay tribute to the late iconic comedienne by celebrating "Joan Day" with special programming on Friday, Sept. 19, E! News reported.

The TV special is an all-day marathon that will feature Joan's best "Fashion Police" jokes, her 80th birthday celebration episode and the last "Fashion Police" episode she appeared in. It  will also include never-before-aired moments, behind-the-scenes footage, hilarious outtakes and clips featuring a lot Joan's most memorable celebrity guests.

Melissa will join Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos to pay tribute to Joan in a touching 90-minute celebration of the comedienne's incredible years on the show, titled "Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan."

The "Fashion Police" marathon will air Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on E!. It will then followed by "Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan" at 8/7c.

Meanwhile, multiple sources told Radar Online that Melissa will file lawsuits after the results of the official medical investigation were released.

"It's become very clear to Melissa and experts she has spoken to that her mother didn't have to die. This was a routine endoscopy went wrong. Melissa has also been told that staff members at Yorkville Endoscopy revealed a shocking detail to medical investigators looking into Joan's death - something occurred during the procedure that wasn't medically related," the source explained.

"Melissa will await the outcome of the official medical investigation and then absolutely file the lawsuits," the source added.
