Netflix has officially ordered two season of Judd Apatow's latest comedy, "Love," which will star Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs.

Apatow's original comedy series is slated for a 2016 release date and it will feature ten episodes. The second season of "Love" will comprise 12 episodes and will be released in 2017, according to Aceshowbiz.

"Love" is created by Rust, Apatow and writer-producer Lesley Arfin, My Sun Coast reported.

On Tuesday, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos confirmed the news and said, "Judd Apatow has a unique comedic voice that manages to be delightful, insightful, and shockingly frank - often at the same time. Together with Paul and Lesley, he's bringing a whole new level of agony and ecstasy to this modern day comedy of manners."

Apatow meanwhile couldn't contain his excitement over the upcoming partnership. He said, "I am so excited to get to work with Paul and Lesley on this project. Netflix has been supportive in ways I couldn't create in my wildest fever dreams."

Meanwhile, "Love" will follow the life of a couple named Mickey, played by Jacobs and Gus, played by Rust, and how they journey through the "exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid," the NY Daily News noted.

Jacobs previously starred in "Community" and recently filmed an appearance on the hit series "Girls." Rust, meanwhile, appears on "Comedy Bang! Bang!" and is currently in partnership with Paul Reubens in writing a new Pee-Wee Herman movie, according to Deadline.

Apatow, who serves as the executive producer for "Girls" will be creating his first ever series since FOX's "Undeclared" was canceled in 2002.

On Tuesday, Apatow teased the co-creators his new show and asked them whether or not it was time to write the script yet. He tweeted, "Do we have to write them now? Today? Tomorrow?"
