We are still more than a month away from the premiere of "Scandal" season 4 but that just means we are going to get major spoilers as the upcoming episodes approach. The lasted teasers come in the form of new cast members.

According to E! News, Josh Randall ("Ed") and Mary McCormack ("In Plain Sight") will appear on the ABC series for an episode in early October and will play a couple. All other details on their appearance is being kept under wraps like most "Scandal" details.

McCormack is best known for playing the role as Mary Shannon on "In Plain Sight," but has also held memorable roles on "The West Wing" and last season's short-lived show "Welcome to the Family."

Meanwhile, Randall has portrayed characters in "Ed," "Greek," appeared in several episodes of "Scrubs," Pushing Daisies," "Grey's Anatomy," "Castle" and most recently "Masters of Sex."

Thanks to Ellen DeGeneres we know that Porta de Rossi has signed on for a top secret, multi-episode season 4 arc. Someone we will not be seeing in season 4 is series regular Columbus Short who was let go from the show.

During an interview with Access Hollywood on Monday, July 7th, the 31-year-old actor talked about his recent legal and personal problems which eventually led to Shonda Rhimes' decision to fire him from the show starring Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope.

Columbus Short told Billy Bush, "Let's talk about ABC and let's talk about the show 'Scandal.' They did not throw me to the curb like trash -- that's my family," adding, "They knew that I was going through a tough season and rallied around me."

The "Stomp the Yard" star explained, "We're a family and I think at a certain point when you're getting a barrage of stories after stories, ABC justifiably would want to distance themselves," adding, "We're in a season of moving forward, and 'Scandal' is my family, ABC is my family. They did the right thing."

Short even said that the way the show let him go was "very classy" and civilized. He admitted, "It was a tough day for both sides," adding, "As hard as it was to hear, it was as hard for ABC and Shonda to pass that information along."

"Scandal" season 4 is set to premiere on ABC, September 25th at 9 p.m.
