‘The Blacklist’ Star Harry Lennix Says Fans Of Frank Miller’s ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ 1986 Comic Will Love ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’

While promoting his television series "The Blacklist during an interview with Movie Fone, actor Harry Lennix also briefly talked about his other major project, the upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Like the other main cast members of Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" from 2013, Lennix will return to star in the DC-based superhero sequel. He will reprise his role as Lieutenant General Swanwick of the United States Northern Command.

According to the actor, those who enjoyed reading Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" four-issue comic book miniseries will surely love Snyder's upcoming film, Batman News reported.

"Anybody who's a fan of the '86 graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns,' I think will be pleased by that," he answered when asked to give an update on the upcoming film. "This is a historic event. Clearly, Zack Snyder is on the cutting edge of directing movies on this scope and scale."

"I think you can depend on the acting - you've got Amy Adams, of course. You've got Henry [Cavill]," he added. "I don't think there are any surprises with regard to that. What will happen remains to be seen. I'd probably wind up in a box some place."

Like "Dawn of Justice," Frank Miller's work depicts the confrontation between the two superheroes. "The Dark Knight Returns" follows an ageing Bruce Wayne who is forced to return as Batman due to Gotham's dystopian state.

Due to a series of global catastrophic events, which was triggered by a nuclear strike, the world becomes chaotic and Batman enlists the help of Robin and other forces to restore order in Gotham.

Batman's actions make the once crime-ridden Gotham the safest city in the United States, which made citizens question the capability of the US government in leading the country.

Embarrassed, government officials order Superman to go to Gotham and confront Batman, according to Comic Book.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will premiere on March 25, 2016.
