Vanessa Hudgens has come a long way since her "High School Musical" franchise days. The starlet went from innocent teen to starring in her most controversial role yet in the film "Spring Breakers."

However, now that the movie is set to have a sequel, Austin Butler's girlfriend gave her opinion as well as revealed whether or not she or her costars Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson or Rachel Korine will be back to throw on their bikinis for the big screen.

According to Hollywood Life, the sequel will be done by a new director, Jonas Akerlund and written by Irvine Welsh rather than the original mastermind, Harmony Korine.

James Franco, who starred in "Spring Breakers" as a rapper, drug dealer, has already bashed the sequel, confirming that he won't be involved.

The actor posted a rant on his Instagram account stating, "The original was wholly Harmony's creation and these producers are capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel," adding, "I want everyone to know that whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship...It will be a terrible film."

Meanwhile, Vanessa Hudgens told the celebrity gossip site, "I love what we did with Spring Breakers! I think that it is amazing and it is something that we are all proud of," adding, "I don't think any of us are a part of the second one so I am not sure what they are doing, I am not sure what it is even about, but I mean good luck!"

It seems she agrees with James Franco and is on the director's side. She said, "If you don't have Harmony, I don't understand how its Spring Breakers, but..."

Her costar Ashley Benson wasn't eager to jump on board of a sequel without Korine either. The "Pretty Little Liars" season 5 star said, "I got the email that we were going to do another one," adding, "as of now I would like to leave it as it is.

"I haven't met with the director yet. I haven't read a script either...that movie is so different, and I don't know if you could do another one like that. Especially if Harmony isn't the eye directing it. If there is another one and I am not a part of it, it will do great...they will get four new girls."
