Rihanna found herself in trouble with the law, but not how you may think!  The "Disturbia" songstress paid $25,000 to the LAPD fund for cadets and fallen officers after breaking Police Commission President Steve Soboroff's cell phone during a selfie!

The two sat next to each other during an LA Clipper's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder last week and they took a picture sporting LAPD bracelets. Unfortunately the songstress dropped the phone and broke it, which made the picture go viral.

Soboroff saw this as an opportunity to boost morale in the LAPD after recently losing five brothers. He also thought it would raise money for underprivileged students to participate in their Cadet program. The broken phone is being auctioned on eBay, the highest bid breaking $1,200.

She wrote on the phone, "Sorry! I <3 LAPD. Rihanna."

"Sorry I broke your phone," Rihanna tweeted after the incident.

It was her idea to go the extra mile and donate $25,000 to the charity, which also funds families of fallen police officers. The commission president announced her pledge on Tuesday during a meeting.

The LA Times reports this was not RiRi's first run-in with the LA Police Department. In 2009 they charged her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown with felony assault after a domestic violence incident post-Grammys. He is currently doing time for violating his probation from this conviction.

The Barbadian beauty opened up about the traumatic experience for "Oprah's Next Chapter." After brief rumors of reconciliation, the star has been linked to fellow singer Drake. A source told Hollywood Life though the relationship is on, they hit a bump.

"She's mad at him a little bit because he told her, 'babe, you're too needy. Let me hustle babe. Let me work,'" a source told the site. "That really hurt her feelings because she really loves him and wants things to work out between them."

"She's being stubborn," the source added. "When he told her she's too needy, she was like 'all right n-----, I'll show you needy' and [she's] been doing her own thing since- trying to make him miss her. You know, all this high school s---."

We hope Drake can see what an amazing woman he has, and gives her what she wants! Are you happy Rihanna is helping the LAPD raise money? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
