The "Revenge" season 3 finale went out with a bang and proved once again that it is a master of the OMG moment.
As we put another season behind us we were forced to say goodbye to two main characters and welcome back someone from the dead.
If you haven't seen Sunday night's episode it's probably best that you stop reading now because where are about to talk about some major spoilers below.
According E! News, not only did Aiden (Barry Sloane) die after being suffocated by a revenge-seeking Victoria (Madeleine Stowe), who found herself institutionalized by the end of the episode, but Conrad (Henry Czerny) was also murdered by David Clarke (James Tupper)!
"Revenge" season 3 showrunner Sunil Nayar not only talked about the shocking decision to bring David Clarke back from the dead but also confirmed to fans that they will see plenty of him in season 4.
Apparently the decision to bring back Emily's father was made "awhile ago.
Nayar explained, "He is, of anybody that can come walking into the Hamptons, he is the game changer and we felt the best way to bring him back to the Hamptons is when we reintroduce him, you realize this man is no longer about forgiveness, that revenge has become a part of his makeup.
"So that the man that both Emily and Victoria think they knew isn't the guy at all. Whether people love it or hate it, I'm sure it's going to be a polarizing decision, there's nobody who's not going to want to know where he's been and what he's about, so we can't wait to tell those stories next season."
The showrunner added, "And you're going to see a lot of him next season, definitely. He's going to be a presence in the show, I promise you."
Meanwhile the creative mind revealed that the decision to kill our beloved Aiden was a necessity because "Emily can't be without revenge."
He admitted, "We thought the best thing to do is make her understand what revenge is in a very different way."
Sunil Nayar continued, "It's one thing when you are a young girl and you lose your father and you have this idealistic sense of who he was and therefore you might idealize the sense of what you have to do to get him justice, but when you lose the man that you love, the love of your life with whom you plan on spending your life at the hand of the woman you hate more than anybody, it's a much more mature kind of anger that I think will inform how Emily will go about doing what she does in season four differently."
Fans will now be able to see Barry Sloane on the upcoming ABC series "The Whispers" however, Nayar revealed, "It really wasn't the basis for killing Aiden."
As for season 4, E! News revealed some major spoilers for the Hampton's crew.
According to the celebrity news site, "Emily will be living in Grayson Manor and Victoria will be the one narrating the show and out for revenge, wanting to take down Emily/Amanda and make her pay for everything she lost.
"And by the way, we hear another main character will be written out next season. Perhaps the biggest cast departure yet."
