Despite portraying the physically perfect Madison Montgomery in "American Horror Story: Coven," Emma Roberts recently admitted that she "used to get made fun of for being pale."

According to Contact Music, at one point during her teenage years Evan Peter's fiancé looked like she ''rolled in mud'' when she attempted to give her skin a golden glow with a spray tan.

The 23-year-old actress admitted that things became a disaster prior to going to her friend's prom.

She explained, "I was that person who went with the boyfriend's friend.

"I had a really bad spray tan, because I used to get made fun of for being pale. I thought, 'I'm gonna get a spray tan and be really glamorous', but I looked like I rolled in mud.

"So, um, that was really fun."

During a chat with her "Palo Alto" costar James Franco (Who recently came under fires for tryin to pick up a 17-year-old girl on Instagram) for V magazine, the actress revealed how her home schooling experience was nothing like the typical high school experience.

She explained, "I was home schooled, which was definitely not like a regular high school experience."

The engaged starlet comes from a Hollywood family as her aunt is the gorgeous Julia Roberts and her father is the talented Eric Roberts.

Despite the talent in her bloodline the former Nickelodeon star revealed that her parents didn't want her to go into the entertainment industry.

She revealed, "She [my mom] just didn't want me to go into it [acting] young. When you come from a family that's in the industry, they're always like, 'Be a doctor! Be a lawyer!' But we end up wanting to be actors."

Emma Roberts went on to admit that she never received advice from her famous aunt about acting because the family wasn't keen on her career choice.

She confessed, "No one said anything to me about acting because they hoped it would just be a phase. But I kept doing it!"
