Neil Patrick Harris is baring it all in the latest Rolling Stone issue. He covers the mag wearing nothing but a bow-tie and strategically placed top hat.

Harris currently stars in Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," a drastic change from his womanizing role on "How I Met Your Mother." The star lost 22 pounds to take the stage, which his fiancé David Burtka loves.

"He's so skinny, and I think that really gives him power," Burtka told the publication. "His body is crazy right now."

The "Smurfs 2" star told Kelly and Michael about his weight loss regimen.

"I'm skinny. When I was filming 'How I Met Your Mother', I knew this show is coming up and it's such a different type of role that for three or four months I've been doing nothing but cardio and trying to lose some weight ... I lost about 22 lbs."

"It was pretty much a combination of [diet and exercise]. I just stopped eating late. I was the kind of person who, after we put the kids down, we would go eat at like 9pm or 9.30pm. We would order food in and by the time we ate, it was 10ish. It's easier with kids because kids eat dinner around 5.30 or 6pm. And we would just eat with them and I would try to not eat later."

The supportive other half of the superstar revealed in Rolling Stone at first he was not sure if Hedwig was right for Harris.

"I didn't think he could pull off the femininity of (Hedwig)," he explains.  "This is such a stretch for him. In his day-to-day, he's not a very feminine guy."

The "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" actor feels coming out as a homosexual helped plummet his career.

"Once all the cards were on the table, I got more opportunities than ever," Harris said. "Some actors don't get hired because you can't look into their soul and see what they're like, because they're kept guarded."

"I have always been highly aware of how I was presenting myself," the actor reveals. "Which, now that I'm playing overtly feminine and loving it, is kind of a stupid concern."
