The premiere date of "True Blood" season 7 which will serve as the final season of the HBO series is set to kick off on Sunday, June 22nd at 9 p.m.

According to E! News, HBO announced the big news on Thursday. Also set to make a June debut is the highly anticipated new drama series "The Leftovers," which stars Jennifer Aniston's husband to be Justin Theroux.

The show is set to premiere on Sunday, June 15th, at 10 p.m. following the "Game of Thrones" season 4 finale.

Along with the release of the premiere date of "True Blood" season 7, HBO also released the first promo trailer for the series.

In the creepy clip we are led through Bon Temps' graveyard where we see the headstone of some of the character who have been killed off of the show.

But the final tombstone holds the name of the show with the dates "2008-2014." The popular series will wrap up its seven year run this summer with 10 episodes.

President of the network Michael Lombardo promised fans that they will have "a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show."

In a statement following the announcement of the show's end Lombardo said, "True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO."

He added, "Alan Ball took the books by Charlaine Harris, assembled a brilliant cast led by the magnificent Anna Paquin in the role of Sookie Stackhouse, and crafted a show that has taken its many devoted fans on an unforgettable journey.

"Alan passed the baton to Brian Buckner, who led our fantastic writers and crew in crafting a spectacular sixth season, and he will lead us through the seventh and final season of this amazing show."
