It looks like there is more to come for the "Game of Thrones" as season 4 approaches its premiere date on HBO.
Author George R.R. Martin has released a brand new, never-before-seen chapter from "The Winds of Winter" which is the sixth book of seven in the series saga.
According to Hollywood Life, the author published the pages to his website on March 27th. The writer explained, "The new chapter is actually an old chapter. But no, it's not one I've published or posted before, and I don't even think I've read it at a con."
The new chapter, titled "Mercy," kicks off with the opening lines, "She woke with a gasp, not knowing who she was, or where. The smell of blood was heavy in her nostrils... or was that her nightmare, lingering?
"She had dreamed of wolves again, of running through some dark pine forest with a great pack at her hells, hard on the scent of prey."
Although there has been no confirmation as to how the "Game Of Thrones" will end and no release date has been made for "The Winds of Winter," Martin is trying to finish up the 1,500 page novel as quickly possible.
Back in June 2013 the author spoke about his progress with the highly anticipated novel and what he intends to do with the popular book series.
He admitted, "I know how it all ends in broad strokes. Of course, there's no guarantee the show will end the same way. [The showrunners] have been known to make changes, including in the Red Wedding. ...
"They turned it up to 11. There are at least four characters who are dead on the TV show who are alive in the books still. So we'll see. Meanwhile, I'm writing very fast because my great fear is that [the show] will catch up to me."
