Although Kate Middleton and Prince William are set to embark on a tour of Australia and New Zealand with their baby boy, Prince George the royal couple decided to have a little vacation before all the madness begins.

Multiple sources confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to take a low-profile trip to the Maldives.

According to Us Weekly, the pair will spend a week in the islands, which are located in the Indian Ocean and have become a celebrity destination spot. Katy Perry and Russell Brand enjoyed a honeymoon after their 2010 wedding as well as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in 2006.

Meanwhile, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and her husband, honeymooned in the Seychelles after tying the knot in 2011.

While Will and Kate seem to be enjoying themselves during their getaway it is unclear whether Prince George has joined his parents during their mini vacation.

An insider revealed that a four-night stay at the Cheval Blanc costs $10,000, and a five-course dinner at the resort's luxury Le 1947 restaurant costs about $500 per person, without drinks.

Although the tot may not be on this trip he will definitely be with them next month when they head Down Under for three weeks on an official royal tour.

The privileged family will kick off their trip in New Zealand on April 7th, visiting seven of the island country's major cities. From there, they will then head to six cities in Australia.

During a private conference on March 2nd Miguel Head, private secretary to the Duke of Cambridge, said, "The Duchess has never visited either country, so this is a chance for her to meet the people of New Zealand and Australia for the first time."

He added, "The Duke last visited New Zealand in March 2011, shortly after the devastating earthquake in Christchurch. During the same visit, he also went to Victoria and Queensland in Australia, which had been very badly affected by natural disasters."

Head continued, "So, for the couple, this visit represents a wonderful opportunity on the one hand for The Duke to deepen his personal relationship with, and admiration for, New Zealand and Australia; and on the other, for the Duchess to experience some of the extraordinary warmth and hospitality for which the people of both countries are renowned the world over."
