It looks like Julianne Hough took her break up with Ryan Seacrest harder than everyone thought as the "Dancing with the Stars" alumni revealed that she wanted to stay single for a year following her split.

However, the latest photos of the blonde holding hands with hockey player Brooks Laich proved that she did not keep her word.

According to Us Weekly, the 25-year-old who graced the cover of the March issue of Self talked about her romances and what she has gained from them.

She explained, "I'm a relationship girl, and I feel so grateful for the ones I've been in," adding, "They've been excellent -- I've been hurt but never angry -- and they've helped me grow to be who I am today."

Hough continued, "But my goal has been to be single for an entire year. There have been moments when I'm like, 'This sucks!' But my dad used to say to me, 'When you feel happy with who you are, you won't need anybody to fill a void.' So for now, I'm focusing on my work and my soul."

Nina Dobrev's best friend admitted, "I honestly don't care if I meet somebody or not. I'm just loving life on my own with my own two feet on the ground."

However, recently Julianne Hough has been loving Laich of the Washington Capitals. The two were spotted holding hands and sharing a kiss at Disneyland on Saturday, February 15th. A source close to the "Safe Haven" star said that she is "happier than ever."

Apart of being happy has been changing up her workout routine. She said, "People are afraid to go to the gym because they're out of shape or they won't try to do a marathon because they're scared they won't finish. But you've got to just go for it and keep going."

She confessed, "I used to hate cardio because I have a little bit of asthma. But I've recently gotten into running. Once you pass that 'I can't breathe, this sucks so bad' moment, it's therapeutic."

As far as diets go, the petite blonde starlet revealed that she isn't too keen on them. She explained, "Eating is an experience for me. It's like, This might be my last meal, so I better have everything on the menu!"

Hough went on to say, "I love a really good Italian dinner: an artichoke salad, penne with red sauce and a margarita pizza. And then it's fun to go to another place for dessert because it makes the moment last longer. I'm the queen of Yogurtland."

Julianne Hough's March issue of Self hits newsstands on February 25th.
