Read our Q&A with the Sochi-bound star below:
So Jamie, as a female snowboarder, what's it like balancing sports alongside a skin/hair care routine?
First and foremost it is important is staying healthy and strong, but it's also nice to look good along the way! Anyone who is athletic values her body and how she treats herself and it's fun to share our passion about that with those who look up to us.
What would you say are your favorite go-to skin and hair care products?
I love the Olay Fresh Effects line! The Eye Awakening Cream ($13) and the Dew Over Gel Moisturizer ($13) are my go-to's. The Gel Moisturizer is amazing and I use it every morning. It makes my skin feel so good, especially when I am up in the dry Rocky Mountains. I also love Pantene's Repair & Protect line. It has really been crucial, as my hair has been getting so beat up this winter.
Any favorite makeup products? Are the slopes makeup friendly?
My new fave is the Covergirl Bombshell Mascara ($10). It really nice and gives your lashes a lot of volume. The slopes can be really tough on makeup depending on the weather. Sometimes it's really rainy and foggy and nothing stays on your face, so you have to take care and do what you can based on the different elements.
What are some beauty dilemmas a snowboarder has to combat and how do you solve them?
Having to wear all of the heavy equipment-helmets, goggles and facemasks-then taking it all off at the bottom of the run. At that point, you just hope that your mascara is on and your skin looks good. After awhile, you get the hang of it, but it definitely takes some getting used to!
What's your signature go-to look for public appearances?
I'd say my signature look is pretty natural. A natural look always goes with what I'm usually in which are a cozy pair of leggings, Ugg boots, a warm jacket and a scarf.
How does it feel to be an Olay spokesperson?
It feels really good! They are such an amazing brand and I couldn't be happier.
Any tips of tricks for women looking to work out and look their best while doing it?
I would say to drink a lot of water, stay hydrated and eat healthy! It's important to start from the inside.
Thanks Jamie! Be sure to watch the Sochi Games to catch this snowboarder in action!
