MAC Cosmetics has created a capsule collection to complement Disney's highly anticipated live-action "Sleeping Beauty" remake, "Maleficent," starring Angelina Jolie!
Doesn't the beauty brand have a knack for introducing best-selling products (remember Rihanna's RiRi Woo Lipstick selling out in three hours?) MAC is adding onto their impressive repertoire with the new limited-edition range. The buffet of new 'Maleficent' beauty items will include 11 face, eye, lip and nail products, coming to beauty shelves May 2014.
The iconic label has dedicated an entire color collection to the evil queen of "Maleficent." Judging by Jolie's creepy beauty look on the film's poster, MAC must have been impressed. The popular starlet appears as a truly sinister witch, with perfectly arched eyebrows, piercing bright green eyes and blood-red lips.
But this isn't the first time that MAC had previously used "Maleficent" as their muse. The company released a "Venomous Villain" collection in fall 2010 inspired by four characters: Cruella de Vil, "Snow White's" Evil Queen, "The Princess and the Frog's" De Falicier, and "Sleeping Beauty's" Maleficent.
The company has yet to debut the collection's photos, but that didn't stop us from making predictions on what the products might look like.
We can already guess that doing a second "Maleficent" range must mean MAC's first one was super-successful. This time around, we're expecting a collection focused on dark, dramatic and eye-catching colors that mix glam with goth. It wouldn't be surprising if the label also included a bold, vibrant red lipstick or nail shade, too.
The assortment will have its global debut next summer, according to the brand's Facebook page. We hear the range will coincide with the film, arriving in theaters on May 30, 2014.
MAC summed up the new product line in a few striking words: "Being bad never looked so good."
