Now that the holiday parties are here, what better way to look your best than by donning head-turning eyeliner? Yes, tis' the season for shimmer!

Our favorite celebrities like Kat Graham are into the glittery eye look. The "Vampire Diaries" beauty rocked a copper liner, taking portraits with Santa and her super-cute puppy in Beverly Hills recently. The gilded product instantly brightened her peepers, and accentuated her piercing green eyes. Talk about living your live like it's golden, right?

The simple fact is that many women's opinions of glitter have changed. What was once thought of as reminder of bad 1980s hair and makeup is a great beauty statement now. Wearing shiny liner is very attention-grabbing, keeping the focus on your eyes for all your holiday appearances. But to get the look just right, we've found some helpful tips:

1.  Apply all your other face makeup before using your shimmery liner. This means putting on all primers, base, shadow, foundation, concealer and highlighters. Think of the liner as your finishing touch.

2. For the best results, start with a dark brown or black pencil liner around your eyes before applying the glitter. This will make the glitter appear more subtle, so it's not so overwhelming. Skip liquid liners because the glitter products can smear it.

3. After using the pencil, stroke on a single line of shimmer liner. Start on the eyelid, at the middle of your lashline. Then, follow the line of your lid until you reach the outer edge. Don't forget to draw the brush up toward the end of your brow for a subtle cat-eye effect. And avoid the corners as these are the places most likely to be irritated.

4. Finish the look with a few coats of mascara for the ultimate WOW factor!
