Although Princess Charlene of Monaco may currently be known for her awesome fashion sense, prior to that she was an Olympic swimmer. Over the weekend the 35-year-old showed the world she still had that competitive fire deep down inside of her.

On Saturday, the royal got back into to the water in order to teach a swimming class at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex in Moscow, Russia. The Monégasque princess taught the group of enthusiastic children how to swim, according to the Daily Mail.

Princess Charlene was clearly dedicated to teaching the children the art of swimming as she dove in not of afraid to get her blonde hair wet. She even wore goggles to teach the kids the butterfly stroke, as well as showing them how to kick off from the edge.

The Royal is passionate about swimming and her own charity which is called, The Princess Charlene Foundation. The goal of her namesake aims to help women and children on five of the world's seven continents, with one of the focal points being awareness of water safety.

On Charlene's charity website it reads, "Some of my present and future projects for my foundation are underlining the importance and reinforcing the awareness of water safety."

It continues, "We are all aware of horrible stories about small children drowning because they could not swim. Teaching them how to swim could save their lives, and the importance and awareness will help them to feel more comfortable and confident in all aquatic areas as well.'

Back in 2000 she represented South Africa at the Sydney Olympics, with her team finishing in fifth place in the Women's 4x100 m Medley.

Princess Charlene later retired from competitive swimming in 2007, however her commitment to the sport seems to still burn inside of her.
