It looks like Johnny Depp is doing anything he can to keep his young girlfriend Amber Heard Happy, including buying her a pair of $50,000 Neil Lane diamond drop earrings.

The 50-year-old actor "recently surprised her with $50,000 Neil Lane diamond drop earrings " according to Life & Style.

Entertainment Wise reported that the publication even printed the exact pair of earrings that "The Lone Ranger" star purchased for the "Paranoia" actress.

The couple met while they were working on the set of the 2011 movie "The Rum Diary" and began dating shortly after they ended their respective relationships.

At the time, both were romantically involved, Depp with girlfriend of 14 years Vanessa Paradis and Heard with girlfriend Tasya van Ree.

Despite their effort to keep their relationship low-profile the couple was spotted together numerous times while Depp promoted his summer box office bomb.

The two were even spotted with the actor's children during an overseas trip. Various sources reported that Paradis believes that Heard is a "gold digger" and the actor only likes her because she is "exotic."

The expensive gift comes after rumors that the couple has been fighting. A source reported that his "smothering behavior" is driving his 27-year-old girlfriend crazy.

The insider revealed that the successful actor is having a hard time dealing with the failure of his movie.

The source said, "He's in a terrible state over the whole thing."

"He's been relying on Amber to maintain his fragile ego, but she isn't sure how much more she can take. She's been locked away in his apartment, looking after his kids, but his smothering behavior is driving her crazy."

The couple's relationship is already on the rocks after the bisexual actress accused her boyfriend of being boring and he told her she was lucky to be dating him.
