In the latest "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast rumors, it has been reported that Minka Kelly's boyfriend Chris Evans and Melanie Griffith's daughter Dakota Johnson have been tapped for roles in the highly anticipated film adaptation.

According to UPI, with an official casting announcement expected to come in just a few weeks, author E.L. James sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a photo of herself on Twitter with Evans featuring the caption "Having fun... ;)."

Recently, James attended a party at "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson's house and rumors flew that the actor was up for a role in the film as well.

It was also reported that "21 Jump Street" actress Dakota Johnson was being considered for the part of Anastasia Steel.

However, according to Entertainment Weekly, a source at Universal cautioned that they aren't even close to making any casting offers at this time, which means that many other Hollywood contenders that still have a shot at the role.

Bret Ellis Easton told Refinery 29 that he knows who the "Fifty Shades" author wants for the role of Christian Grey.

"She is never going to get him," Easton teased.

"He has dark hair. Of course, that's what she wants ... Okay, I can say this: Think of the most obvious, fitting choice. It's right in front of your face. I can't say anything."

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation is expected to hit theaters in August 1, 2014.
