Miley Cyrus is reportedly trying to salvage her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, who is being "unresponsive," according to Entertainment Wise.

Though the couple are still together, the "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" star is showing no enthusiasm about repairing the engaged twosome's rocky relationship, reported the news site.

Instead, they are hanging by a thread, with the couple arguing quite a bit lately, reported Hollywood Life.

Hemsworth's solution to the fighting and bickering is turning off his cell phone so Cyrus can't reach him. However, despite that lack of communication, the "We Can't Stop" singer just can't stop trying to make things better between them.

A source told HL that Cyrus clearly feels the relationship is worth saving, "Miley's very committed to Liam and to making it work."

"But she has complained that she feels like it's always her making the effort to keep him afloat," the source continued. "Notice how it's always Miley visiting Liam whereever he's working and not the other way around."

The source also added that the twerk queen would love it if Hemsworth would fly out to surprise her or do something romantic, but she refuses to fight over it.

The couple's biggest problem is spending so much time apart, and Cyrus' racy new image and sound could also be doing damage.

The source believes that the division is hurting the couple tremendously, "The time apart is taking a huge toll, but what can they do?"

"Their careers are both exploding right now and neither one of them want to give that up," the source said of the couple who has also reportedly been through therapy together. "Liam won't [give up his career] and Miley sure as he** won't either."

But the twosome do really love each other despite the difficult situation, HL reported.
