With a slew of tumultuous troubles and highly-publicized engagement, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are splitsville.
According to US Weekly, the couple, who declared their intention to marry last June, are "definitely over." The sad news comes after several months of back-and-forth rumors and a recent intervention staged by Hemsworth's brothers to tell their younger bro, 23, about concerns over jumping the broom with Cyrus, 20.
The now-ex lovebirds, who met on the set of "The Last Song" in 2009, were at the centers of rampant speculation, which Cyrus fueled the fire by wearing her 3.5-carat Neil Lane engagement ring on and off, chopping her locks off and reportedly acting very childish.
The twosome also had "awkward living arrangements," and Hemsworth was the subject of several tabloid reports for his alleged infidelity with January Jones in March.
But there did seem to be some hope that things were going to get better for Cyrus and her man. The couple did share a recent public display of affection at the "Can't Be Tamed" singer's Los Angeles home after Hemsworth put their engagement on hold and took some time to himself in Australia.
Though we can imagine that many people are upset about the breakup, Hemsworth's family seems to be relieved, according to US.
In related news, Cyrus posted a wedding dress photo on her Twitter page on Tuesday, according to Yahoo's "Love + Sex" blog.
