Reportedly, George Clooney had tried to win the affections of Eva Longoria while he was still dating Stacy Keibler.

"The Monuments Men" actor, 52, had unsuccessfully tried to woo the 38-year-old "Desparate Housewives" actress, who turned him down, according to US Weekly

In March, Longoria and Clooney hung out together at the Soho House in Berlin, but did not "hook up," a source told US. They have been friendly for years, "George began pursuing Eva [after the Soho House,"] the source said.

"He told her that he was still with Stacy, but had plans to break up with her and was interested in being with Eva," the source added.

The divorced "Devious Maids" executive producer resisted Clooney's advances, but he "continued to pursue her with texts and calls. Eva made it clear to him that she would not date or be with him until he was completely single."

However, it seemed like that relationship was not going to happen considering that Longoria began dating Ernesto Arguello, a contestant on her short-lived NBC dating reality show, "Ready for Love."

Meanwhile, Clooney and Keibler called it quits, ending their two-year relationship earlier this month. The couple had not had intimate relations in months leading to the split, and they had been drifting apart for some time, reported US.

"She knew he wasn't looking to get married," an insider said to US. "But there was always that fantasy that he would commit. Sadly [the relationship] just ran its course."
