The back-and-forth comments over Rihanna and Chris Brown's relationship just keep coming, but the singers maintain that they have moved on from each other and are doing great things apart.

The "Stay" songstress, 25, gave a reported $5,000 smackaroos to Barrington High School in Illnois after her special performance earlier this year, according to E! Online. The pop star's management had been communicating with school officials since March about the donation, which will go toward student supplies.

"The money will go to purchase new equipment for the students to use, " said a Barrington 200 School District spokesperson, Jeff Arnett, adding that RiRi's team was very pleasant in their communications.

Students had produced a video of Rihanna's involvement with charitable organizations, and won a grand prize performance by the singer for winning her "Shine Like a Diamond" contest with the clip. Though the performance was a school year highlight, Rihanna did show up four hours late. But, officials are choosing to focus on the positive things surrounding RiRi.

And apparently, her ex-beau is all good, too. After some controversy, butting heads with neighbors and Los Angeles county, Brown painted over his home's ghoulish graffiti murals. But, according to TMZ, the "Don't Think They Know" singer only did it because he felt like it.

Though his fellow Hollywood Hills blockmates were reportedly scared by the tagged monsters, Brown had cited the First Amendment to keep his "art" up for "art's sake." But, he had a change of heart, unfazed by the city's threats, he said. Whatever the reason, Brown has dodged another bullet with public officials and is relieved of having to pay a huge fine.
