After much anticipation and due date guesses, Kate Middleton's is expected to welcome her royal baby today, Thursday, July 11.
According to US Weekly, the Dutchess of Cambridge, 31, should go into labor within a few hours and the royal family is waiting to get the call. But, they are not sitting by the phone. Earlier, Queen Elizabeth ll, Prince Charles and Camilla, Dutchess of Cornwall attended the Coronation Festival celebrating the Queen's 60th anniversary at Buckingham Palace grounds in London on high baby alert.
Prince Charles' wife, Camilla spoke to reporters about their over-the-moon joy for Middleton's forthcoming heir to the throne.
"We are very excited, immensely looking forward to it and waiting for the phone call, " she said.
Of course, Middleton is overjoyed. Us learned that the expecting royal was "feeling great" and "full of energy" from a family source last week. But, being a first-time mom comes with some jitters and anxiety. "Naturally she is a little nervous about the big day, what new mum wouldn't be?," the source said.
And with so many people taking turns at trying on baby names and guessing the baby's gender and weight, the family will post an announcement outside of the palace with all the details once the baby arrives safe and sound.
A St. James Palace rep told the magazine that a framed announcement will be placed on a wood and gold easel behind Buckingham's gates. It will include the baby's weight, gender, time of birth and the highly-anticipated name.
"Although an electronic release will go out, we want there to be a degree of theatre about the birth announcement," the palace rep said. "This is the birth of the third in line to the throne so it is very important. It is an extremely important occassion."
