The burlesque queen known for her classic style and retro outfits, Dita Von Teese, just proved how sexy recycling can be when she walked the ramp dressed in a plastic gown made out of biscuit trays.

Attending the Lambertz Monday Night event at the Alter Wartesaal restaurant in Cologne, Germany, Von Teese was initially dressed in a sparkling black and golden floor length gown but later changed into the creative outfit for the runway, according to heatworld.com.

The backless gown made out of clear biscuit trays was held together by just a strap and showed off oodles of skin and her curvy figure that perfectly complimented the outfit. The 40-year-old teamed the dress with glittery silver heels by Louboutin and a hair band with a net that added an Old World glamour to the ensemble.

When it comes to the burlesque queen, it is impossible to ignore her healthy lustrous locks. Her dark hair was parted on the left with a puff in the front and out curled perfectly to compliment her retro look. She added a stunning pop of color with a dark red lipstick and nail lacquer of the same shade.

Von Teese was joined onstage by former Miss World winner, Rosanna Davison, who was also dressed in a similar attire in red. Other celebs to attend the event were Italian actress Ornella Muti, Mischa Barton and Hollywood stars Rosario Dawson and Bo Derek.

Von Teese, who is credited with re-popularizing burlesque performance, has often received mixed opinions about her looks as well as her body. But the model/actress oozes confidence about herself.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which is very, very true," she told Bella Sugar. "Everyone has different ideals on what is beautiful. I think it's wonderful that everyone has their own opinion. There is someone for everybody. One mantra is that I won't tolerate people who judge beauty vocally."

Recycling is a trend that is fast catching up among fashion lovers. Right from footwear, clothes to even accessories, designers go out of their way to create imaginative pieces with recycled materials. Jewelry designer from Connecticut, Jessica Mindich has gained massive popularity for transforming pistols, rifles and shot guns into bracelet bangles which sell from $150 to $375.

Even big names in the industry like Givenchy in collaboration with Fonderie 47 designed limited edition pieces of jewelry and accessories in 2012.
