Olivia Culpo, who brought back the Miss Universe crown to America after 15 years, is currently the hot topic of discussion. Right from her gowns and reactions on winning the coveted title, fans cannot stop raving about the winner from Rhode Island.
Culpo spoke to the People magazine after the contest and opened up about her journey. Talking about her diet, she said that she believes in high protein intake and stays away from carbs as much as possible. "It's important to keep your metabolism up, so I eat breakfast, then I'll have a snack of almonds or something. Then [I eat] a lunch of high protein, low carb [food], then another snack of fruit - and then dinner," she told People.
Culpo might now be a celebrity and Miss Universe but she like every other 20-year-old in the U.S., she craves junk food and likes trying cuisines from different parts of the world. She takes guilty pleasure in tucking into Peanut Butter Cups and says she wants to try Asian food..
The cellist won the Miss USA title in June 2012 and has been mired in controversies since. But braving everything, she went on to win the Miss Universe crown. For the Miss USA pageant, the Boston University student wore a $20 gown which even had a hole in it. "It still looked cute, but nobody would have known that I rented it for twenty dollars," she told the GQ magazine.
As Miss USA Culpo regularly put in efforts to raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancer but now plans to work toward HIV and AIDS awareness.
