Being a co-host with Mario Lopez on “The X-Factor” USA is not only benefiting reality star Khloe Kardashian but seems to be working perfectly fine even for fashion designers. Not only is the synergy between celebrities and designers remarkable but it is also well known that they are co-dependent. Fashion designers depend on celebrities to provide exposure for their clothing and accessories, and celebrities need designers to supply them with looks that boost their glamorous images.
The synergy gets even better when a celebrity wears a designer's clothing on a highly rated televised music competition like the episode where Kardashian wore a sparkling golden dress by Mac Duggal and of course looked electric in it. But this worked in favor of the designer too. Her appearance in the dress shot up the demand for this gold sequined long sleeve dress with a deep v-neck.
Retailers bought up all of designer Mac Duggal's on hand stock of this dress within six hours the next day. What had been expected to be over 6 months of supply of this style, sold out in less than a day due to Kardashian wearing it on “The X-Factor.”
“It is such an honor to have this beautiful fashion forward icon recognize my collection!” Mac Duggal said, obviously thrilled about Kardashian wearing the dress.
“As soon as we saw Khloe wearing the dress on Instagram, we knew it would sell out quickly. We had our first order on this style minutes after the show aired. If a celebrity wears a designer dress we carry, our sales go through the roof,” noted retailer Steve Winston of Online Formals in Virginia Beach.
Kardashian looked radiant and joyful in the dress during the show. And not just because of the dress, the joy might even be due to the recent launch of the Kardashian sisters’ clothing line, “Kardashian Kollection” in UK. The collection brings to life various designs like the animal print, solid colors, lace and intricate patterns, along with a variety of catchy pieces like lace trench coat, tuxedo shorts and bow shift dress.
