Rihanna's Fenty Beauty has been coming up with hit after hit ever since the brand was launched in 2017. Their latest makeup product, the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Powder Foundation, got rave reviews; and fans loved the inclusive 50-shade range. Now, Rihanna's skincare line, Fenty Skin, is releasing a new skincare product and it's a highly debated one - eye cream. Rihanna took to Instagram and posted a teaser revealing the Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream. The short video shows Rihanna in her bathroom as she shows off her flawless bare face as she applies the Fenty Skin eye cream.

As Allure reports, the Fenty Skin Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream will be launched on February 12. A press release from the brand says, the Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream is a "2-in-1 eye cream and concealer primer that instantly brightens, soothes, and reduces visible puffiness." Some of the hero ingredients in this formula are glycerin, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut, green tea, Persian silk tree, aloe vera, and jojoba oil. Most ingredients are well-known for their moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. While Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin has a huge and loyal fan base, eye cream has always garnered mixed opinions, especially from dermatologists.

Eye Cream Benefits

Dermatologist Dr. Hadley King tells Insider while eye cream has hydrating benefits for the delicate undereye area, it doesn't really do much to reduce puffiness and dark undereye circles. Some eye creams can temporarily reduce puffiness, but dermatologist and dermatology professor Dr. Debra Jaliman points out to Insider that it will have to contain a very high concentration of caffeine. Based on the ingredient list of Flash Nap on the official Fenty Skin website, it lacks that. That doesn't mean other ingredients won't have the same effect. Flash Nap does contain green tea, which contains antioxidant polyphenols that Dr. King says are effective against puffiness. However, for dark undereye circles, dermatopathologist Dr. Gretchen Frieling says that a tinted moisturizer is the easiest option to conceal them. She adds that peels or lasers performed by a dermatologist are best for a permanent fix for dark circles.

Still, for hardcore fans of Fenty, a great thing about Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream is that it also works as a concealer primer. You'll get the hydrating benefits of the eye cream, which will also complement your Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer.

Price and Availablity

The Flash Nap Instant Revival Eye Gel-Cream will retail at $32, but for an additional $10, you can get a set that includes an exclusive Fenty Skin Eye Massage Tool, a thumb-sized eye roller. Based on an eight-week clinical trial on 53 women, Fenty Skin reveals that 100% agree that it conditions the eye area and 92% agree that it "refreshes puffy-looking eyes." Try it out for yourself comes February 12. It will be available on sephora.com and fentyskin.com in the US and Harvey Nichols and Boots in the UK.
