Sephora in collaboration with Pantone, a color technology company is working to create 'Color IQ" service to identify exact color for matching skincare products. Pantone is best known for "Pantone matching System" a color spec identifier used in industries for priming color for paint and fabrics.
Sephora is a French LVMH (Louis vuitton and Moet Hennessy) brand chain of cosmetic stores with 750 stores in 17 country.
The possible technology can now be used to make women look more beautiful priming color matching foundations for skin.
Sephora "Color IQ" is a highly advanced camera known as a spectro-colorimeter, which identifies accurately color. Cosumers can use the device to find the color of the skin, which helps find that exact true "skin color" avoiding blemishes and ambient light.
Sephora workers will take images of your skin in three different areas, the machine will then collect the data into 81 pictures assigning and identifying individuals skin color and assign specific skintone number to exactly match. Using a Ipad application customers can now find a single foundation that matches individual's skin tone.
The Sephora cosmetic retail store carries over 250 brands with it's own private lable, Sephora offers beauty skin, makeup, fragrance, haircare products.
