"Agent Carter" showrunners have shared some very juicy tidbits about the future of the hit ABC drama, including Peggy Carter's future husband, Howard Stark's "other agenda" and the Season 1 finale.

In the latest episode of the Hayley Atwell-starred series, Agent Carter lost an SSR colleague, Krzeminski, during her mission to get Howard Stark's "bad babies" into SSR hands.

When asked what Peggy is feeling following this episode, showrunner Tara Butters said the feisty agent is feeling guilty and responsible for what happened.

"She thought the best thing to do was get Stark’s technology in the hands of the SSR, but it inadvertently put Krzeminski at risk, and she feels to a certain degree responsible. There’s that nice moment when she learns what happened from Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), where he says, 'Who would call this in?' And she says, 'A concerned citizen…?,'" she told TVLine.

Butters and co-showrunner Michele Fazekas hinted that this is the start of the unravelling of Stark's "other agenda" as well as shed light on Leviathan and who's the real mastermind behind it all.

"The stakes have changed now, they’ve gotten a lot more serious. The episodes that come subsequently really reflect that, where you’re sort of “on the train” toward the end," Fazekas said. "You learn what Howard Stark’s other agenda is. You saw the clip they showed [at the TCA press tour]."

Butters added: "You learn more about Leviathan and who’s behind all of this…"

As shown in "Captain America: Winter Soldier," Peggy eventually does move on from Steve Rogers and ties the knot with someone else. And the showrunners hinted that Agent Carter's future husband might not be someone fans would expect.

In fact, it could be a stand-off between Agents Sousa and Thompson, played by Enver Gjokaj and Chad Michael Murray, respectively.

"Our hope always was that you would meet [Agents] Sousa and Thompson, these very different men," Butters remarked when asked if season 1 will show hints of Agent Carter's future love interest.

And when asked if Peggy could end up with the less-likeable Agent Thompson, Butters hinted that Thompson may redeem himself in the next few episodes and this could change the dynamic between Peggy and the agent.

She said: "Here’s the thing: You find out more about him in the next couple episodes. And you might be surprised. You will absolutely learn things about [the agents at the SSR] that I hope puts characters in a different light for the audience."

The "Agent Carter" bosses also talked about Jarvis' wife Anna, whom viewers have only heard and never actually seen onscreen.

Unfortunately, there still won't be any screen time for Mrs. Jarvis in the near future.

"There are no plans to see her — but she is a real person. I have seen the Twitter theories and I can confirm that she’s a real person. He loves her, and what I love about the Jarvis/Peggy relationship is Jarvis (James D’Arcy) would never cheat on his wife — he adores her — but he still has such chemistry with Peggy," Fazekas told TVLine.

But even if viewers will never get a glimpse of the mysterious Mrs. Jarvis, the chemistry between Stark's butler and his lady love is still undeniable, according to the TV news site.

"He has an affinity for her. And I love how that character relationship grows throughout the season. It reminds me of the first couple seasons of The X-Files, how because of the chemistry between Mulder and Scully, you really believed they cared about each other but it wasn’t sexual. That was very refreshing," said Butters.

Whatever's in store for "Agent Carter" viewers for the rest of the season, showrunner Butters only had one thing to say about the season 1 finale, “Stay to the very end.”
