"X-Men" director Bryan Singer has announced on Twitter that he and best friend Michelle Clunie welcomed their first son on Monday.

"Michelle Clunie and I would like to welcome our beautiful son Dashiell Julius William Clunie~Singer into the world :)," the 49-year-old director wrote alongside a snap of him and Clunie a few moments after the successful delivery of their son, Us Weekly has learned.

Singer and the 44-year-old "Queer as Folk" actress have reportedly been the best of friends for the past 25 years.

In October, they exclusively announced Clunie's pregnancy to The Hollywood Reporter through a statement.

"Mother and father are both very excited about the upcoming birth and look forward to co-parenting the child together," the statement read "The pair have been planning this baby for years and have been trying for the last two."

In May last year, Singer came out as bisexual to Out magazine and even revealed that Clunie was his first serious girlfriend.

"I'm quite bisexual," he said at the time. "In the last five years, I've had two girlfriends - one for two years, one for eight months."

Additionally, he admitted that though he has had a number of romantic relationships with female partners, he only sees himself settling down with anther man.

"In the end, it's probably going to be a guy," Singer said. "I emotionally lean towards male relationships, so I'm happy to say I'm gay, too, if it's a one-syllable, easy answer."

The birth of Singer and Clunie's healthy baby boy comes after the sexual abuse lawsuit filed by Michael Egan against the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director was dropped.

The case was reportedly dismissed after Egan himself decided to withdraw the suit in August by filing a motion titled "Plaintiff's Opposition to Motion to Withdraw as Counsel; Request for Court Order of Dismissal, Without Prejudice or an Award of Costs or Fees, in the Interest of Justice - filed by Michael F. Egan, III (pro se)."
