Camila Cabello announced on radio show KISS 96.1 that she and Austin Mahone have officially ended their relationship, E! News reported.
The 17-year-old Fifth Harmony singer talked to KISS's Tall Cathy via phone call and said, "We're actually not together anymore. Hey, things happen," before laughing and joking about needing "some mistletoe action."
The pair's breakup comes just several weeks after Cabello announced her relationship with Mahone on "Watch What Happens Live," and after Mahone talked about his relationship with Cabello during an interview with Teen Vogue, according to E! News.
Andy Cohen, the host of the show "Watch What Happens Live," had asked the group which one of them was Mahone's girlfriend, and Cabello raised her hand and confirmed that she was dating the singer, according to Pop Crush.
During the interview, she mentioned that she and Mahone met on "X Factor US" and became friends, adding that she thought he was a good guy.
After Cabelo confirmed their relationship, Mahone sent out a tweet later on, saying, "Like you guys didn't know already." He also said Cabello was "an amazing girl" and that he loved spending time with her during his interview with Teen Vogue.
News of the breakup of "Camaustin," the portmanteau of the names of both singers, resulted in #CamaustinIsOver to trend on Twitter, according to Billboard.
During Cabello's interview with KISS, she also talked about Fifth Harmony's upcoming activities. The girl group is set to perform for United States President Barack Obama's National Tree-Lighting event. She said that after she heard the group's single "Bo$," Obama's wife herself, Michelle Obama, invited the girls to sing at the event.
"I'm freaking out," she said. "It's a big deal. I'm still screaming."
Fifth Harmony was formed on FOX's reality show "The X Factor" and consists of Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane Hansen.
