The Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) announced Thursday that new guy James Corden will be hosting "The Late Late Show" starting March 2015, Cinema Blend reported.
The upcoming show will be hitting a schedule on March 9 next year with Ben Winston as Corden's executive producer.
Winston and Corden are friends in real life and they have worked together in Corden's "May I Have Your Attention, Please?" according to CBS Entertainment Chairwoman Nina Tassler.
"We're excited to begin CBS's next chapter after midnight and introduce James' wide range of performance talents and fearless creative instincts to American television viewers," said Tassler, Uproxx reported.
Corden, who is a British comedian, is also a writer and a co-creator of the British series "Gavin & Stacey" while Winston is the executive producer of the British version of "The X Factor," according to The New York Times.
He has played the role of Craig Owens in the series "Doctor Who" and portrayed Planchet in the movie "Three Musketeers" reboot.
Ferguson will step down from the show on Dec. 19 after a ten-year run. He is reportedly in negotiations with Tribune Media to host a daily talk show, reports Variety.
"I wanted to leave the show before I stopped enjoying it," Ferguson said.
Ferguson said that he doesn't know if he would ever do a late night talk show again since he just doesn't feel like it's the way he is headed to.
He also reiterated - as he has in interviews over the years - that taking over the 11:35 p.m. slot from Letterman was never his ambition.
Ferguson will be producing and hosting a game show "Celebrity Name Game" for his new gig.
Corden, an actor, will not start his run until March 9, and several guest hosts that are yet to be named will fill in this January and February, USA Today reported.
