Airline New Zealand released a safety video Wednesday titled "The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made" set in Middle-earth and starring the director and cast of "The Hobbit," E! News reported.
Air NZ, which dubs itself "the official airline of Middle-earth," released the "The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made," an airline safety mini-film which featured director Sir Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in the original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and Dean O'Gorman, who portrays Fili the Dwarf in "The Hobbit" trilogy.
The video, posted on Air NZ's official YouTube channel, shows characters from "The Hobbit" traveling Middle-earth and all the while informing passengers of the airline's safety guidelines.
In the clip, Jackson reminds passengers to always turn off and put away electronic devices before takeoff and elves give instructions on where to stow bags and personal items. At one point, Orcs are seen putting on oxygen masks properly while Gorman demonstrates when and how to buckle seatbelts properly while seated on top of a horse.
The video, directed by Taika Waititi, is part of a cross-promotion with the upcoming "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," TV New Zealand stated.
The promotional clip was shot over six days across New Zealand's Middle-earth locations, including Hobbiton and Central Ontago, which were locations featured in "The Hobbit."
"Air New Zealand has created yet another fantastic video to celebrate The Hobbit films," Jackson said. "I had a lot of fun on set with Taika and the team and look forward to seeing the video on board."
The video also served as a sequel to the airline's 2012 safety video, "An Unexpected Briefing," The Hollywood Reporter stated. The first video brought together actors from the movies onboard Air NZ's 777-300ER planes and received more than 12 million views online.
"The Hobbit" trilogy of movies serves as the prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Both trilogies were based on the books of the same name by author J. R. R. Tolkien.
The third and final film in "The Hobbit" franchise, "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," opens in cinemas Dec. 17.
