Jason Derulo recently denied that cheating and infidelity played a huge part in his split from "American Idol" alum, Jordin Sparks.

Last week, multiple sources reported about Derulo and Sparks' split but have not revealed the actual cause of the separation.

Both parties have also been mum about their decision but now, the "Talk Dirty" singer is breaking his silence on the issue.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Derulo explained, "Though I think it is a private matter and intended to keep my break-up with Jordin personal, due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment."

"I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part. Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our break-up, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives," he added.

In a previous interview with KDWB, Derulo stressed that everything is cool between him and Sparks.

"It's not a bad situation. It's not one of those kind of things," he explained to the station.

Despite their recent breakup, Jordin and Jason have both agreed to remain friends, E! News reported.

Following their split, Sparks posted a cryptic message via Twitter that said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reported another angle to the couple's recent breakup, saying that money may have been a huge factor.

The publication claimed that if Derulo and Sparks both end up marrying each other, Sparks would be leaving with all of the "Wiggle" singer's money in case they decide to part ways eventually.

As of late, Sparks has not yet commented regarding the split so it is still unclear what actually caused it.
