Celebrity Get The Look: Ariana Grande Signature Ponytail Hair Part 2

Close

Ariana Grande may have naturally thick and lucious locks, but that doesn't mean she's the only one that gets to rock a full and fabulous ponytail. Thank the hair gods for extensions!

And now for a little tutorial on how to get your tracks to match and help you give Grande a run for her pop star money! Celeb hair expert Josue Perez has been schooling us on how to get Ariana's hair, so check out the rest of his professional advice below:

Josue, what's the key to using extensions? Any no-brainers we are all forgetting to do?

Correctly and accurately matching your hair color to the shade of the extension is one of the most important things to remember when using hair extensions. If the color matches perfectly- it's foolproof!

What's the biggest mistake women make when using extensions to create a ponytail?

Texture and color matching. Matching your natural hair to the extension is the biggest part: if the extension is sleek and straight, make sure your hair is too! That way, once you put in the extension it will be invisible.

Best techniques and tools to style the hair just right?

Only use hot tools with ionic properties! They go a long way with fighting frizz. I use the Rowenta Beauty Inspiration Pro Dryer ($160) and Straight Express Iron ($180) when styling any blown out and straight look.

The ionic properties protect the hair against heat and provide a smoother finish. I always use boar bristle brushes too- they naturally condition hair and add great texture.

Any additional style tips and secret tricks?

Have fun with it! When getting a celebrity look, it's always great to take inspiration, but sometimes adding your own original twist can be even better.

Thanks Josue! Planning on copying Ariana's perfect pony with these tips in mind? Tell us below!
