"Ted 2" has just added Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman and John Slattery to its star-studded cast.

Seth MacFarlane, the writer and director of the "Ted" sequel, and also the actor who gives voice to the foul-mouthed teddy bear, confirmed Wednesday, Sept. 24, that Neeson and Freeman are appearing in the upcoming second installment of the comedy film series.

"Yesterday Liam Neeson, today Morgan Freeman.  Not a bad week for #Ted2," tweeted the 40-year-old actor-director.

"Ted 2" is not the first project of Neeson and MacFarlane together. The 62-year-old Irish actor, who recently stars in "A Walk Among the Tombstones," played the villain in MacFarlane's 2014 western comedy film "A Million Ways to Die in the West," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"A Million Ways to Die in the West," which had a production budget of $40 million, only grossed $42.7 million in the US and $43.2 in international markets, according to Box Office Mojo.

Two weeks ago, prior to MacFarlane's confirmation, several entertainment news sites had previously reported Freeman's involvement in the flick.

Aside from Neeson and Freeman, "Mad Men" star Slattery is also on board for the film, HitFix first reported.

While details about the roles of the newly added cast members are being kept under wraps, Mark Wahlberg, who is reprising his role as John Bennett in the sequel, previously revealed some plot details about the upcoming film while promoting "Transformers: Age of Extinction" in June.

Asked by IGN if Bennett and Ted had learned the lessons of the first film, Wahlberg said totally not. "That wouldn't be any fun. No, no, no, they're crazier than ever," he said.

In the sequel, Amanda Seyfried will play the new love interest of Bennett. Wahlberg dished that Bennett's new woman will be a "problem" for Ted but the bear has "bigger issues, bigger fish to fry."

Patrick Warburton and Jessica Barth are also set to return, with franchise newcomer Dennis Haysbert, according to HitFix.

"Ted," which had a production budget of $50 million, grossed $218.8 million in the US and $330.6 million in international markets, according to Box Office Mojo.

"Ted 2" is slated for a June 26, 2015 release.
