Australian pop star Sia led the nominations in the upcoming Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards, Contact Music reported.

Competing against electronic soul man Chet Faker, indie singer and songwriter Courtney Barnett, blues and roots veterans group John Butler Trio and Brisbane rockers Violent Soho, Sia is nominated for the top prize, Best Independent Artist.

Sia's album "1000 Forms of Fear" (Monkey Puzzle) is nominated for Best Independent Album against Chet Faker's "Built On Glass" (Future Classic), Violent Soho's "Hungry Ghost" (I Oh You), postpunk outfit Total Control's "Typical System" (Independent) and EDM trio Rufus' "Atlas" (Sweat It Out).

For the Best Independent Single or EP, Sia's "Chandelier" is nominated against Courtney Barnett's "Avant Gardener," DMA's "DMA's EP," Sheppard's "Geronimo" and Violent Soho's "Covered in Chrome."

The Independent Music Awards ceremony will be held on Oct. 14 at the Meat Market in Melbourne, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

In the United States, Sia's album "1000 Forms of Fear" is dominating the charts after her single "Chandelier" won Best Choreography in the recently concluded 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Sia has debuted a new piano version of the song "Chandelier" online and the new version has recently been sent to radio in the US and will be made available for fans who want to buy and stream internationally soon , according to Pop Justice.

Recently, Sia has also reunited with rapper Eminem. Following the rapper's announcement of his new album "Shady XV," their new collaboration song was released as the first offering.

The two collaborated for the first time for the song "Beautiful Pain" from "MMLP2" in 2013. For the second time, they will collaborate for another song entitled "Guts Over Fear."

Featuring Eminem's lyrics on the highs and lows of his career, "Guts Over Fear" was first teased in June as the official soundtrack of the upcoming movie "The Equalizer" directed by Antoine Fuqua starring Denzel Washington, Chloe Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas and David Harbour among others.
