Cher has been forced to reschedule two shows in New York on Sept.11 and New Hampshire on Sept. 13 after getting diagnosed with "acute viral infection" over the weekend, Los Angeles Times reports.

A spokesperson from the web site of New York Avenue where she will hold one of the "Dressed to Kill" shows said that the "Believe" singer temporarily needs to be on full bed rest for a few days, Times Union Center has learned.

This is not the first time Cher cancelled a show due to illness. She reportedly suffered from asthma-related bronchitis while in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in 2008, and had to postpone six shows then, according to Daily Mail.

Meanwhile "Dressed to Kill" shows that are set for Albany, New York on Sept. 11 and Manchester, New Hampshire on Sept. 13 are moved to Oct. 6 and 7, respectively. Tickets will still be honored at the rescheduled dates. Ticketholders who cannot come to the rescheduled dates would be able to get a full refund.

The rest of the tour's schedule will not be affected by the artist's illness, assured recent updates.

The remainder of the "Dressed to Kill" shows will be formally opened at Allentown, Pennsylvania on Sept. 15, Newark, New Jersey on Sept. 17 and New York's Madison Square Garden on Sept. 20.

The 68-year old singer, who is known to wear flamboyant costumes during performances, kickstarted and fully-booked her current tour back in March 22 in Phoenix, Ariz., according to Billboard.

The "Dressed to Kill" tour is Cher's first tour after her 3-year "Living Proof Farewell," which ran 325 shows in 50 cities from 2002 through 2005.

Cher's new tour features Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo as opening acts.

As of the moment, the female pop sensation is promoting her "Closer to the Truth" album. Songs in the album include "Woman's World," "Take it Like a Man," "Lovers Forever" and the tour's titular track "Dressed to Kill."
