Taylor Swift is not at all afraid to admit that she's living the single life and she loves it in a tell-all interview for Rolling Stone.
The "Shake It Off" songstress, who is gracing the famous magazine's cover for its September issue, has been very vocal about focusing her energy on other things right now instead of looking for new love. She also explained why she's not happy on how people perceive her because of her dating history, Us Weekly has learned.
"I feel like watching my dating life has become a bit of national pastime. And I'm just not comfortable providing that kind of entertainment anymore," the 24-year-old singer said.
"I don't like seeing slide shows of guys I've apparently dated. I don't like giving comedians the opportunity to make jokes about me at awards shows," she added. "I don't like it when headlines read 'Careful, Bro, She'll Write a Song About You,' because it trivializes my work. And most of all. I don't like how all these factors add up to build the pressure so high in a new relationship that it gets snuffed out before it even has a chance to start. And so I just don't date."
The "Red" hit maker, who has dated famous celebrities including One Direction's Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas, revealed that she's not into casual hookups. "I just think it's pointless if you're not in love. And I don't have the energy to be in love right now. So no."
Nevertheless, the "Valentine's Day" actress, who admitted that she has not dated since her split from Styles in January 2013, clarified that she's not "sworn off love."
"I really like my life right now," she mused. "I have friends around me all the time. I've started painting more. I've been working out a lot. I've started to really take pride in being strong. I love the album I made. I love that I moved to New York. So in terms of being happy, I've never been closer to that."
Interestingly, Swift, who did the interview with the mag for her upcoming album, "1989," which is considered to be less boy-centric, also spilled an interesting bit about her new song titled "Bad Blood."
According to the country singer, "Bad Blood" is basically a hate-inspired song about her female celebrity enemy or more likely her frenemy, Radar Online noted.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
The singer-songwriter then went on with her rant, revealing more details on why she considered this unnamed celebrity her frenemy.
"[Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!" she exclaimed, adding, "It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me."
Finally, Swift gushed that she wants people to know that the song is not at all about a guy and hinted that shading someone she used to date is definitely out of the question, according to Hollywood Life.
"I know people will make it this big girl-fight thing," she said. "But I just want people to know it's not about a guy. You don't want to shade someone you used to date and make it seem like you hate him, when that's not the case. And I knew people would immediately be going in one direction-"
