Pop superstar Taylor Swift is set to join as a guest mentor in the seventh season of NBC's reality singing competition The Voice, Us Weekly reports.

Swift, 24, is said to be taking part in an episode in the American show as an advisor to the contestants. She will be part of a roster of mentors that will include Stevie Nicks, Gavin Rossdale, country music vocal group Little Big Town, and Alicia Keys.

This will not be the first time that the singer will be seen on the show. She was a guest performer on the fourth season of The Voice and was featured in a segment of the episode, where she visited a rehearsal of contestant Michelle Chamuel, as orchestrated by then-coach Usher.

Chamuel was rehearsing Swift's hit "I Knew You Were Trouble" when she made the surprise appearance. "That was so emotional. All the vocal runs you picked, it was so amazing," Swift later told Chamuel.

Also during that guest spot, Swift was asked for feedback for the other contestants. She was lauded for her comments, according to a source for Us Weekly.

"Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with," the source said. "She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor".

The singer will be returning this season to work in the same capacity as Coldplay's Chris Martin did last season, whereby he offered advice to contestants from all four teams at a certain point in the competition.

Swift will also be performing with The Voice coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and newcomers Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams, according to the Huffington Post.

The seventh season of The Voice will premiere on September 22. Swift's appearance will coincide with the release of her fifth album, "1989," which has been touted to be the singer's first "official pop album".
