Nearly three years after Amy Winehouse's death, the English singer-songwriter's mother has opened up about the final moments of her daughter.

In a brave moment of reliving the painful memories of her daughter, Amy's mother, Janis, gushed that she had visited the "Rehab" hit maker's house before she died in 2011, Daily Mail has learned.

Winehouse's mom said that upon arriving at her daughter's home she noticed that the place "reeked of alcohol." She also noted that she saw "broken bottles of white wine everywhere."

In her narration, she said that her daughter's bodyguard, Andrew Morris, asked her to wait downstairs while he went to Amy's room to fetch her.

Janis gushed that her daughter was very drunk at that time that Morris had to carry her down the stairs.

"As Andrew turned the corner, I saw Amy was slung over his shoulder in a fireman's lift," she said. "It was obvious he'd washed her and dressed her and tried to put her beehive on to make her look respectable."

"I couldn't sit there and watch her like that," Janis tearfully said of the "You Know I'm No Good" singer.

In her new book titled "Loving Amy," Mrs. Winehouse divulged that her daughter "reeked of alcohol" and the smell was "coming out of every pore," reported Irish Examiner.

Amy's mother also recalled that the singer, who had been battling drinking and drug addictions for years, was holding a collection of family photographs when she was taken by her bodyguard downstairs.

The following day after her visit, July 23, 2011, Amy Winehouse was found dead inside her home.

An inquest claimed that Amy Winehouse died from drinking too much alcohol, noting that she had five times the legal drink-drive limit at the time of her death.

"Loving Amy" is to be published by Bantam Press on Sept. 11. All the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, according to Evening Times UK.
