"Stay With Me" hit maker Sam Smith is not a big fan of Tinder and Grindr.

"No offence to people who go on Tinder but I just feel like it's ruining romance, I really do. We're losing the art of conversation and being able to go and speak to people and you're swiping people," Smith told Metro.

Having found a new boyfriend he refuses to name, the British singing sensation discourages those who are single to use the social apps.

"From my experience, the most beautiful people I've been on dates with are the dumbest, so why would I swipe people who are unattractive when I could potentially fall in love with them? Stop Tinder and Grindr!" Smith explained.

Backstage on the "In:Demand" show at the V Festival, the 22-year-old singer said he has been on a couple of dates and claimed he is "good at dates."

"I used to get really nervous but now I'm better. There is one particular guy that I've been on a few dates with. I like him but who knows?" Smith said.

Meanwhile, Smith's dreams of collaborating with Chris Brown, of whom he considers himself a "massive fan," may be coming closer to reality as they are set to sit near each other during the upcoming 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Huffington Post has learned.

Also sitting near Smith at the VMA is "Think Out Loud" singer Ed Sheeran.

Smith has two VMA nominations, which are Male Video and Artist to Watch for his single "Stay With Me."

Currently at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, Smith's "Stay With Me" is yet to beat MAGIC!'s "Rude" at number one and Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" at number two.

Aside from being a big fan of Brown, Smith also revealed he is most excited to see Beyonce and he is rooting for his fellow British artist Charli XCX to take home an award from the music event, USA Today has learned.
