Oh, no! Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy called it quits on their engagement. They have been engaged for five years and have nine children between them. Reports suggest distance was the reason for the split, as did a rep for the couple.

"They love each other very much, but with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship," their rep confirmed to PEOPLE on Friday.

Strahan will be inducted tomorrow into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This comes as a shock, as he recently spoke to Ebony magazine about how perfect life with Murphy was.

"It's great," the host gushed. "As a divorced man, you just want somebody around your kids whose respectful and will treat them like her own. When you understand that, there's never any issue. We laugh and are at graduations and birthday parties; you know...all that stuff."

Murphy is divorced and has five children with actor Eddie Murphy, who Strahan claimed to not have bad blood with.

"If I see Eddie, it's, 'What's up?' There is no animosity or jealousy," Strahan said. "At the end of the day, a woman is a woman and a man is a man. Our relationship is all that matters."

He has a daughter and son from ex Wanda Hutchins, who he split from in 1996, and a set of twins from ex Jean Muggli, who he split from shortly after.

Strahan was recently threatened by a homeless man in Times Square outside of ABC studios.

"There was an incident in Times Square, an individual lunged at one of our employees and was heroically tackled by a police officer. We understand the man was taken in for psychiatric evaluation," explained Senior Publicity Director at ABC News Heather Riley.

"It was a scary situation but thanks to the fast actions of NYPD  the situation was quickly under control. Michael was never in any danger."

Murphy joked at the time, "Michael probably shook up the homeless guy."
