Adam Levine Launches Signature Fragrance for Men and Women

"Maroon 5" front man Adam Levine has made another fashion foray with his namesake fragrance for men and women launched Feb. 7 at Macy's in Century City, California. The rocker celebrated the launch with a bash and looked thrilled throughout the party.

The fragrances will exclusively be available at Macy's February onward and will retail from $35 to $65.

For the fragrance, Levine teamed up with ID Perfumes that describes his fragrance as "confident, deeply seductive and timeless," according to New York Business Journal.

The men's fragrance has notes of grapefruit and lemongrass along with amber, sandalwood, and cedarwood that gives it a fresh masculine edge.

The women's Eau de Parfum features a floral woody scent with Indian jasmine petals, Australian sandalwood, and rose petals. The fragrance boasts of base notes of creamy vanilla.

"Both fragrances were shaped by Adam's discerning nose, while the bottles and packaging reflect his particular aesthetic sensibilities," said ID Perfumes chairman and chief executive Ilia Lekach. "This debut fragrance collection is everything a signature scent should be: both a portrait and extension of the brand itself."

Levine seems extremely excited about the fragrance and took to Twitter to talk about it. "2 facts about my fragrance 1 men wont smell like a bad 80s movie 2 women wont smell like a stripper (not that theres anything wrong w/ that)" he tweeted.

Sticking to Levine's musical background, the bottle is designed to look like a microphone with a silver mesh cap and an angular body.

"It smells really good. I couldn't conceive the idea of not loving whatever it was. The task was to make something that I would wear," he said during the launch bash, according to Contact Music. "So that was a process and we finally came to a great conclusion and it smells great. I fully endorse it and I'm really happy because it has my name on it.'"

In January Levine also announced his alliance with ShopYourWay.com to launch a multi-department lifestyle brand. Levine's line will include apparels and accessories that strongly reflect his personal laid-back style and the collection will hit shelves this year.
