Jennifer Love Hewitt Joins ‘Criminal Minds’ Cast

Jennifer Love Hewitt has been cast as a regular on crime-drama "Criminal Minds!" The "Party of Five" actress will play undercover agent Kate Callahan, who long worked for the FBI before moving to the Behavioral Analysis Unit.

"We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast," executive producer Erica Messer said in a statement.

"Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10thseason."

"Criminal Minds" focuses on an elite FBI team based out of Quantico, Virginia. They profile "un-subs" to solve crimes and was renewed for its tenth season on CBS. The new season premieres on October 1, 2014.

Other cast members include Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore and A.J. Cook.

Hewitt began acting as a child on Disney channel's "Kids Incorporated." She shot to fame in her teenage years on "Party of Five," before starring in "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

She also appeared in TV series "Ghost Whisperer" and movies "Can't Hardly Wait."

The star was signed by Atlantic Records and Jive Records, with her 1999 single "How Do I Deal" debuting at 59 on the Billboard Hot 100.
