Put on your 3D glasses, as designer Sue Wong will be unveiling her Spring Collection 2013 ‘Spring Transcendent’ at the Fifth Annual 3D Film and Music Festival. The event will be filmed in 3D as a part of Othila Media’s documentary “Fashion and Culture in Los Angeles”, which records the city’s vital contribution to the fields of fashion, art and music.

Wong says the collection represents Transcendentalist themes explored by essayists and poets like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, who often spoke about the divinity of nature and humanity. The collection comprises a variety of knee-length dresses and gowns that are designed to grace the contours of the body. The colors transition from frosty shades of platinum to warmer tones of beige.

“When Mr. Thoreau recounted his experience of living on Walden Pond, he wrote, ‘the true harvest of my daily life is somewhat intangible and indescribable as tints of morning or evening. It is a little star dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.’ In this collection, I tried to capture that fleeting beauty that exists in the very fibers of both fashion and nature,” Wong describes. “Introducing it at the 3DFF is a wonderful opportunity to engage fashion in an exciting new way while celebrating the kind of Hollywood glamour that has always been so integral to my designs,” she adds.

The 3D Film Festival (3DFF) is an all-digital 3D film, music, and interactive festival, presented by RealD, 3net and LG Electronics. “3DFF is really excited to be working with iconic LA designer, Sue Wong. The sophistication and drama she incorporates into each collection makes her the perfect partner for creating a memorable 3D fashion experience for our festival attendees,” Christopher Crescitelli, 3DFF founder and festival director, said.

Known for incorporating the dramatic, old Hollywood charm in her designs, Wong presented her fall fashion preview at the 6th Annual Designer Runway, where she unveiled 40 looks for her fall collection. The collection, ‘Autumn Sonata’, was well-received by audience and fans.

The ‘Spring Transcendent’ 2013 collection will debut Sept. 21 at LA Live’s The Conga Room, 800 West Olympic Boulevard. The show begins with sponsored cocktails by The Conga Room, 3opolis, the Dream Factory, Grey Goose, Corona, Bacardi and Red Bull from 4-6 p.m. A number of celebrities and fashionistas are expected to attend the event.
