Katy Perry said we would hear her roar, and she was not kidding! After covering the first ever Cosmopolitan global issue, the songstress announced Tuesday the launch of her new music label, Metamorphosis Music, a joint venture with Capitol records.

The "Teenage Dream" crooner already signed her first artist, pop singer Ferras, who she executively produced five songs for. It includes their duet, "Legends Never Die." Ferras released his own EP at the same time as the record label announcement.

"I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS!" Perry tweeted.

Ferras joined in on the excitement as well, writing, "The secret is out! I've signed to my dear friend @katyperry's new record label Metamorphosis Music."

"Today is the day that my EP is finally out and I'm so happy I now get to share it," he added. "Let me know what u think!!! Also, catch me opening up for Katy on #ThePrismaticWorldTour starting June 22!.."

Ferras was first discovered by Fred Durst and signed to Capitol Records in 2007, which led to him meeting Perry.

"Ferras is a man with a message, and a unique lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen," Perry said in a statement. "I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold."

He joins Perry on her Prismatic World Tour, which kicks off in the US on June 22 in Raleigh, North Carolina and concludes October 11 in Houston.

The "Roar" singer recently spoke to the LA Times about overexposure.

"I just try to be aware, very conscious of the temperature of if I'm too much in there. I don't always tweet," she explained. "Sometimes I'll tweet for a couple weeks a lot and then you'll find me offline for a week or whatever. I guess I just know how to not overdo it. But just enough."

"Every once in a while I feel the vultures circling, ready to take me down, and then I'm, like, 'I'm backing out, I'm backing out. I'm going away. I'm going to let you take a breather,'" she added.
