Kerry Washington kept mum on the arrival of her first child, and for the first time the "Scandal" star spoke out on motherhood! Keep reading to find out what she had to say!
During a Q&A session with the LA Times, a fan tweeted, "Now that you're a mom, will it be bittersweet to go back to work?"
"So tricky, 'cause you know I don't talk about this stuff," the star replied. "But I will say I feel really, really blessed. I feel really blessed that I'm kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life."
Washington and former NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed daughter Isabella Amarachi Asomugha on April 21.
The former cornerback signed the certificate on April 29 as the father and as the attendant who served as legal witness to the birth on April 24.
"Kerry is at home busy with the baby," a soure told the site.
According to baby name sites the name translates to "Grace of God" or "God's Grace."
The actress first showed off her bump in January at the Golden Globes.
"I have the best date of the night - my little accessory," she joked of her belly on the red carpet.
Washington seemed to handle pregnancy with grace when she spoke to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I work very physically as an actor," she explained. "The biggest thing for me has been the challenge of how to be this person [Scandal's Olivia Pope] with the personal transformation that's going on for me physically and how to stay true to this character. That hasn't been easy."
The actress hid her pregnancy during the series by hiding behind oddly placed lamps and plants.
The notoriously private actress also kept her wedding to Asomugha under wraps last year.
"I'm walking around in the world with my ring," she told Glamour in September. "And when people say congratulations, I say thank you. But I'm going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold... I learned through experience that it doesn't work for me to talk about my personal life."
